A update bio from Payton former mom-

Payton's Bio:

Payton is a 15-year-old Basset Hound with the sweetest soul and a heart full of love. She has histoplasmosis in her colon, which is currently well-managed with a specialized home-cooked diet and just two pills a day. She has recently started to wobble a bit, but with medication management and her resilient spirit, she still gets around and continues to enjoy her daily routines. Despite her condition, Payton is incredibly resilient—she’s happy, affectionate, and always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. She loves gentle attention, cozy spaces, and simply being near her people. Payton is looking for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and comfortable in her golden years.

Payton and Prissi are bonded . The girls must be adopted together.

BRAT has been trying so hard to get Payton well after a diagnosis of histoplasmosis, a fungal infection of her colon. The specialist thinks she got this disease by eating contaminated soil as food when she was running the streets as a stray. BRAT spent close to $4,000 trying to figure out what was wrong. Then from Sept 1st to Nov 30, we've spent another $8,150 on the specialist who diagnosed her correctly.

So we desperately need your help in continuing her treatment through February.

She is costing us around $450 per week or $1800 per month. It was more in Sept and Oct due to testing. But starting in Nov it has been around $1800 per month. Some weeks may be more due to meds.

How can you help? There are 3 ways to donate:

Put Payton in the memo section.

Thank you so much for helping Payton! We will give you updated reports as we continue her treatments. She has good days, then days where she's too tired to walk so she gets to ride in her buggy like a queen in her carriage!
