Basset Hound (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult
Rider's foster Mom would describe him as a super social and very smart dog. He has a ton of spunk and personality. Rider has some trust issues though but he has just enough curiosity that allows him to come close to his human to sniff him without running away. Rider came from a backyard breeder. Rider never learned what it is like to be a dog. He was always kenneled with very little human interaction. So it is only natural to understand why he acts the way he does.
Rider is going to need someone with a lot of patience to allow him to be the dog he desires to be. It would be beneficial for Rider to have a fur sibiling(s) in the home that will help show him the ways of what it is like to be a dog in a loving family.
If you feel you are up for the challenge, along with your other fur babies. You will not be disappointed. Rider will love you hard and fiercly. He will be one very appreciative dog and forever loyal. He will make someone very happy without regret.
